Request for Information from CHS member David Hudgins:

I am looking for information about this 1934 Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus booklet that I recently found.  See below for photos of the front and back covers and some of the interior pages.  Was this a press booklet for newspapers?  Did they create a similar booklet for all cities?

This terrific full-color courier was used as part of the advance promotion of Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey during the 1934 season. Printed by Erie Litho and Printing of Erie, Pennsylvania its pages are filled with color photos of many of the same lithographs that the circus billposters distributed in advance of circus day.

Couriers such as this were also carried on the bill car and left in stores and distributed by "programmers" as well as the U.S. Post Office.

Although this particular booklet was printed by the thousands, it is somewhat scarce and is a highly collectible artifact from The Greatest Show on Earth.
