Vander Clyde Broadway, better known as Barbette, began his career around 1913-14 as one of the Alfaretta Sisters, an aerial duet in which he replaced one of the "sisters" who had died (or so says the story). He had auditioned for the act after having seen an ad in Billboard, also around this time. I have never been able to find any information on this act, and I wonder if anyone knows something about the Alfaretta Sisters, before, with, or after Vander? Any help is welcome! Thanks!
