Circus History Live! celebrates World Circus Day

The Fédération Mondiale du Cirque, under the honorary presidency of H.S.H. Princess Stephanie of Monaco, created World Circus Day in 2009. Celebrated each year on the third Saturday of April, circuses, circus schools, and other organizations around the world hold events on World Circus Day to pay tribute to the circus arts. In 2022, over 300 happenings took place in 42 countries on World Circus Day!

The Circus History Live! session on Sunday April 16th featured Zsuzsanna Mata executive director of the Fédération Mondial du Cirque, Wayne McCary Fédération vice president, and Rodney Huey director of the Fédération's Global Alliance of Circus Schools, who discussed the history of World Circus Day. They also talked about other 2023 World Circus Day activities and additional Fédération initiatives in support of the circus arts.

This program was hosted by Circus Historical Society vice president Chris Berry.
