  • 20 Jan 2023
  • 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM
  • Online - CHS Zoom Big Top

The January 20th Circus History Live! program was broadcasted live from the 45th International Monte-Carlo Circus Festival! It is now available for viewing on the CHS YouTube Channel.

In addition to reporting on festival activities, the program discussed the history of this iconic circus festival. Since its founding by Prince Rainier of Monaco in 1974, several US artists and acts have been awarded the coveted gold, silver, and bronze prizes. Some, like Elvin Bale and the Flying Farfans, have won more than once.

This program was hosted by Circus Historical Society vice president Chris Berry. Chris was joined by CHS president Bruce Hawley and CHS Trustees Stasia Kelly and Wayne McCary. Wayne, who is also vice president of the Monte-Carlo-based World Circus Federation, talked about the federation's work around the world. Zsuzsanna Mata, who is the federation's executive director, also appeared on the program.

Non-members are invited to Join the Circus Historical Society.
